Panasonic have made rapid inroads into the digital camera market with their wide selection of cameras.
Their range of Lumix ultra-zoom digital cameras, fitted with image-stabilized Leica lenses, has proved
particularly popular. The latest in this range is the Lumix DMC-FZ50, brought in to replace the 8-megapixel Lumix DMC-FZ30.
The new camera retains the 12x optical zoom lens with image stabilization, but has 10-megapixel sensor.
Panasonic have now also brought out their first digital SLR camera - the Panasonic DMC-L1 - showing their
intention to compete with more established players in this field like Canon, Nikon, Pentax and Olympus.
