Top Selling Digital SLR Cameras

These are the top selling digital SLR (single lens reflex) cameras, plus SLR camera accessories, from Amazon.com.

SLR digital cameras normally fall into the "prosumer" category at the low end, to full-on professional at the top end. They're priced accordingly, with the top-of-range Canon and Nikon digital SLRs costing from $5000 to $7000.

So, although prices of digital SLRs have dropped in price over the past couple of years, they remain relatively expensive.

The main distinguishing feature of digital SLR cameras is that they do not have a fixed lens, so the user can change lenses. This obviously adds enormous versatility as you can now use lenses ranging from extreme wide angle to ultra telephoto - all on one camera body. That's why there'll often be popular lenses fro digital SLR cameras included in the products listed.

Digital SLR cameras also have larger image sensors than fixed-lens cameras, so can produce bigger digital images with less "noise", particularly when the ISO (sensitivity) is set to a high level (from 800 to 3200 ISO).

Customer Review: Wow, what can I say that others haven't already? I played extensively with the D90 and the T2i before I purchased the T2i. Canon EF 50mm f1.4 USM Standard & Medium Telephoto Lens for Canon SLR Cameras
Amazon Price: $349.00
Customer Review: The Canon f/1.4 lens is definetly worth the money. Don't get the cheap f/1.8 lens if you want really nice quality photos. Used it today for the first time at a professional photo shoot and it performed with excellent results...especially in darker areas. The f1/4 setting really sucks in the light an...
