Thks for your kind answer.I´m thinking about buying it,not convinced yet.i read some people who say maybe it´d be a better idea to keep more money and buy one with live view, and i guess i´ll take that in count.
BTW,i agree with you about the quality of the photos i could get with any dslr,i´m just fine with the fuji 6500fd,but i think evryone would like to feel more than that, right? something like happy or very impressed..my camera doesnt give me the quality i waited for.regards from spain.

It comes pre-scored. You just pull out the foam in the shape you need.

The D40 will best any P&S camera. It will be faster, better focusing and deliver better images, especially with good lenses. I actually use a D40 along with my new D700 and the D40 images compare very nicely, except at ISO's above 1600.

excellent review, sir. i had my mind pretty much made up about the camera i was going to get before watching this video, but it made me much more confident about the purchase. very good!

very nice review man.
they are really great cameras and for someone like a semi pro or similar have to be a real goal to have one of them.
in my case i just have a compact (with the body of a slr) fujifilm 6500fd but i am thinking in buying a nikon d40, the price is around 290euros here in spain and i really have doubts about if i will see big differences between the results i could get with the fuji and d40.
if you can advice me, i certanly appreciate it.
keep in touch.
thanks again.

If everyone reads between the lines, it should be obvious that the Canon 40D, 50D and Nikon D300 are all GREAT cameras. Choose based on features. Anyone who claims there is any significant image quality difference is simply a fool. Again, all of them are great. I prefer Nikon Zooms over Canon, so that is part of why I didn't buy Canon.

I really appreciate the great review! I am a new semi pro buyer and this video convinced me to buy canon. Its not that I think the d300 is not a beautiful camera, just the price difference is my concern. Introduction of the d50 and the 18-200, have made d40's very accessible to an semi-pro group. I love the review... keep it up! I hope to see one on the d50... and if not your just a bastard(meaning motherless child of Satan)... not a critic. Just kidding on the whole Satan joke....

Thank you soo much,
Seriously this video was great if a bit bias lol.
Great fun and very informative, I'm looking for a semi professional DSLR, I think I'm going to buy the Canon EOS 40d and some lenses because of the price of the Nikon D300. But you have helped me decide and you definitely fight a good case for the Nikon D300, thanks a lot!!!
