Thank you!

No it doesn't - I'd have mentioned it if it did! The only current DSLRs with movie modes are the Nikon D90 and Canon 5D Mark II. See our reviews at cameralabs . com if you want all the details.

is it true that the eos 40d has a movie function like the nikon d90?

There's a lot of features to weigh up, so I'd recommend checking out the verdict pages of my Nikon D300 and Canon 50D reviews at cameralabs . com... then if you have any Qs, feel free to post on the cameralabs forums...

Accurate and good review. Thanks. Well, I still can't decide between Nikon 300d and Canon 40d. What would you choose?

Gordon, when are you going to review the Canon 50D?
cameralabs (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
The 40D is not obselete by any stretch of the imagination. The 50D does not replace it - it's a new model that's positioned above it at a much higher price. The 40D will remain on sale and remains a superb DSLR for the money. There'll always be new models though and the 40D is now a year old. If it bothers you to not have the very latest, I'd suggest visiting the cameralabs forums where rumours of new models are often discussed. You'll also find out when the trade shows are coming up... |
